Abstract

The KAPPAG model is applied to study SO2 pollution due to emissions from a thermoelectric power plant located in the south of Brazil near Uruguay's border. The goal of this study is to assess the contribution of the thermoelectric emissions to the high observed values of acidity of the precipitation in the Uruguay. The meteorological and source inputs required by the model were collected in four field campaigns carried out in the vicinity of the power plant. In this paper we present the SO2 ground level concentration predicted by the model for some selected days, one of each campaing. 1. Introduction Inadv
