Abstract

A model for the eddy diflusivity coefficient for the stable planetary boundary layer is developed by using the / -model from the Turbulent Kinetic Energy theory (TKE). The length scale used was derived by Degrazia et al [1] and the turbulent kinetic energy is obtained from a spectral model presented by Moraes et al [2]. The eddy diflusivity obtained is tested through comparison with experimental, numerical and theoretical models presented in the literature. 1. Introduction Much has been written in recent years concerning modeling and parameterizations of the planetary boundary layer (PBL), particularly in formulations that require turbulent fluxes of momentum, heat and moisture. These turbulent fluxes are primarily resp
