Abstract

In this contribution, we compared data obtained from an elastic-back- scattering lidar with temperature and humidity profiles obtained from radiosondes in Barcelona, Spain, in July 1992. Elastic-backscatter lidar data show the distribution of aerosols within the scanned volume of atmosphere. By comparing this information with temperature and humidity profiles of the atmosphere at a similar time, we were able to assess the relationship between aerosol distribution and atmospheric stability or water content, respectively.
