Submit a Journal Paper


Peer Review and Quality Control

All WIT Press Journal submissions are single-blind peer-reviewed by two well-qualified academics from reputable institutions and paper assignments are made to avoid any conflict of interest.  All papers are subject to editorial control.

In order to be acceptable for publication submissions must make a new contribution to the scientific community.

All WIT Press journal submissions are processed through Crossref Similarity Check (iThenticate) to screen for plagiarism.

Types of Contributions

Original papers; review articles; short communications; reports of conferences and meetings; book reviews; letters to the editor and selected bibliography. Papers essentially of an advertising nature will not be accepted. 


Submission Process

Authors interested in submitting a paper are requested to:

  1. Take a look at our journal pages for details of topics covered and fees – Journal List
     

  2. Follow the journal author instructions, template and example pages provided below.
     

  3. WIT Press has a strict Ethics and Malpractice Statement. Please ensure you read and follow the guidelines in the link below:

  4. Complete the Open Access Publishing Agreement or specify the desire to publish under the CC BY 4.0 Creative Commons license.

      Our policy requires that prior to publication all authors or their employers must sign the WIT Press Open Access Publishing Agreement (OAPA) unless publishing under the CC BY 4.0 license.

      Information on the use of Open Access Articles Published Under this Agreement
      Reuse: These papers will be freely available, without charge, for users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to the full text, or use for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author as long as the author/copyright holder is attributed. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access. We encourage users to include links to the published WIT Press version of the Work, including the Digital Object Identifier (DOI).

      Reserved Rights of WIT Press: WIT Press reserves the right to limit the production of derivative works and commercial exploitation of the Work. Should a third party seek to make a derivative work based on the Work or commercially exploit the Work they must seek permission from WIT Press.

      Author Online use of Open Access Articles Published Under this Agreement
      Personal Servers: Authors and/or their employers shall have the right to post the final, published version of WIT Press-copyrighted articles on their own personal servers or the servers of their institutions or employers without permission from WIT Press, provided that the posted version includes a prominently displayed WIT Press copyright notice and, when published, a full citation to the original WIT Press publication, including the article’s Digital Object Identifier (DOI), and a link to the article abstract in the WIT Press eLibrary.

      Classroom or Internal Training Use: An author is expressly permitted to post any portion of the accepted version of his/her own WIT Press copyrighted articles on the author’s personal web site or the servers of the author’s institution or company in connection with the author’s teaching, training, or work responsibilities, provided that the appropriate copyright, credit, and reuse notices appear prominently with the posted material. Examples of permitted uses are lecture materials, course packs, e-reserves, conference presentations, or in-house training courses.

      Electronic Preprints: Before submitting an article to a WIT Press publication, authors frequently post their manuscripts to their own web site, their employer’s site, or to another server that invites constructive comment from colleagues. Upon submission of an article to WIT Press, an author is required to transfer copyright in the article to WIT Press, and the author must update any previously posted version of the article with a prominently displayed WIT Press copyright notice. Upon publication of an article by WIT Press, the author must replace any previously posted electronic versions of the article with either (1) the full citation to the WIT Press work with a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) or link to the article abstract in the WIT Press eLibrary, or (2) the WIT Press-published version, including the WIT Press copyright notice and full citation, with a link to the final, published article in the WIT Press eLibrary
       
    • Creative Commons License (Attribution 4.0 International - CC BY 4.0)
      This version of the licence allows users to copy, distribute and transmit an article, and adapt the article as long as the author is attributed. The CC BY license permits commercial and non-commercial reuse.

      With CC BY 4.0 the author grants to WIT Press a non-exclusive license of all rights of copyright, including but not limited to the right to publish, republish, transmit, sell, distribute and otherwise use the Contribution in whole or in part.
