Abstract

The method for calculation of ship hull bending deformations in sailing conditions S. Belak University of Split, Department of Maritime Studies, Croatia Abstract The paper analyzes the way of determining the ship's hull deformations due to the hull bending in the longitudinal vertical plain of symmetry during sailing in real exploitation conditions. The procedure is based on the computational network of measuring points. Measuring points are placed along the ship, at the points of highest local stiffness. Measuring points comprise two or three digital inclinometers by which one can read the inclination angles of measuring points in longitudinal and transversal direction. The suggested system and displayed method of the deformation calculation, do not depend on the exploitation conditions, or the type of ship. The results can be the base for defining the decision making support for the selection of navigation elements. The result of the paper is the defined theoretical base for the procedure per
