Of the several techniques that have evolved, particle image velocimetry (PIV) and laser induced fluorescence (LIF) for velocity and concentratiodtemperature determination, respectively, have reached a good level of maturity and thus currently enjoy an increasingly level of popularity and acceptance by experimental fluid dynamicists.
