Waste generation is rapidly becoming one of the key problems of the modern world, due to the increasing waste generation rate as well as the complexity of waste composition. Damage to the environment caused by poor waste management can be avoided by implementing environmentally sensitive waste management techniques. Nevertheless, regardless of size, economic resources, or culture, every community must establish and maintain waste management systems that are appropriate and affordable.
